A delicate little vine twins its way up around the frame of this fairy door. The hinges, door handle and nails are made to look like hammered iron. A little acorn decorates the top of the door. Fairy Doors are meant to add a little whimsy to your home or garden and invite the Fae folk to spend some time there. If they visit you the belief is that you will be blessed with luck and happiness.
This door is approximately 4.25 inches tall by 5.75 inches wide. It is hand-sculpted of Fimo brand clay. This door has a piece of wire on the back you can hang it from, but it can also be propped up on a shelf, mantle, counter top or cupboard. If you don't have pets or very young children you can also put it somewhere closer to the ground. Fairies don't mind a shoe-level view, as long as they don't get stepped on!
I sell these on Etsy [[link]] and also will be at a local craft show in October (Apple Daze in Dexter, MI), so I am trying to make a bunch of variations on my best designs to take along. So far so good!
This one is adorable! And so detailled, I love the tiny keyhole I think the best part is how many different nuances you have in the colours and how many different textures on the rocks. That's what makes it realistic and what makes the piece really come to life
